Over the past few weeks, the Warhammer World Studio team have been busy on a new diorama, and with recent announcements for Soul Wars and the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, they’re excited to share their work in progress with you!
The team are creating a Warhammer Age of Sigmar diorama, based around the brand new Soul Wars background. The display is 12 x 4 foot in size, and will feature the Stormcast Eternals with the brand new Sacrosant Chamber taking centre stage, battling against a large host of Nighthaunt, led by none other than the Mortarch of Grief.
Starting with cardboard, off-cuts of wood, mounds of boxes, and whatever came to hand, the team roughed out their ideas from paper into physical form. This meant they could test the feel of the diorama before committing to the building materials.
Since then the groundwork has very quickly appeared! You can see on the right where textured rocks are now being layered onto the roughly sculpted foam.
The left of the diorama will have a detailed interior you’ll be able to peep into. Each of the steps you see on the staircase was carefully individually measured and hand cut!
You’ll be able to see this diorama first at the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Open Day on June 30th, where the Warhammer World Studio will take the chance to show off and chat about their recent projects and some of their work in progress.
It’ll then be on display in the Warhammer World Exhibition from July 14th.
Warhammer World?s Warhammer Age of Sigmar Open Day is a celebration of the amazing Citadel and Forge World models we produce, as well as giving you a chance to look at what is to come. It?s a fantastic event for all fans of Age of Sigmar!
